Weekly Rant #1

Posted by Some-Stupid-Idiot - October 12th, 2008

So basically I decided to start a weekly rant about what I feel is useless and or just stupid.

I'd like to start this week off with those Engine Turnover Buttons they put in some cars. I mean what type of useless invention is this, I lost my keys, then how the fuck did you get in the car. Also a key is just far superior to a button since you can just turn on the electricity with the key, but you need to start the whole car with the button. Finally it is just easier to steal.

The only type of people who would use this kind of technology are idiots and an expletive not allowed on this site who want to look cool. I've yet to see a single intelligent person with this piece of tech in their car and that is for a good reason. Personally I would laugh at anyone who has one in their car.

A key is far superior to a engine starter since they are usually always on your person and you use them to get in the car anyways. The only way to make a engine starter actually good is to install a finger print scanner which they don't have.

With keys you don't have to worry about anyone taking your car. Any driver worth his salt would say they'd rather have a set of keys over a button so they won't get stolen. Now some of you also know that OnStar has emergency start-up which is good since if you get into an accident and your passenger is hurt and emergency personnel won't make it in time you can go. That should only be used in emergency situations only.

If I ever had to choose between opening the door to my house with a key or a button I would choose the key, if I was to choose between use a key to unlock a locker or a button I'd still use the key. Keys don't compare to buttons in any way. The nly places they should be are on remotes, controllers, keyboards, vending machines, arcade machines, and those high tech computer thingies in science labs.
